Fashion has always been a part of my life. When I was younger, I had to spin test my skirts and made sure they floated around me before I would wear it. I liked being ahead of the trends which usually led me to be teased in school, but hey bell bottoms are back bitches. I love how fashion can take on a new ideal or technology. I also love fashion history! I had written a few papers on the fashion influence of by-gone eras on history and our culture overall.

I chose Lamassu from the Assyrian culture as I represents my style and aesthetic. A Lamassu is a hybrid animal ,also called a chimera, that has a lion or ox body, bird wings ,and a man’s head. They are usually seen in front of entrances to cities or palaces. They were thought to have been symbols of security as well. Anyways, I fell in love with the Lamassu after an art history class and saw it as a representation of myself. I am eclectic (or weird to the normal people) and my style reflects it.

With this blog, I want to explore and share what I have learned over the years. I want to write on my passion and inform others of the great triumphs fashion has made. But I also want to give perspective and light into areas that hardly see any. Overall, I want to enthrall the reader into what fashion can do to ourselves and our world.
